Woah, I’m launching a blog! *squeals* Fun fact: this was not in my plan of things to do. I have never considered blogging, but look at me writing things! And look at you, reading them! The thought of creating a blog came to me a week ago from today, and I immediately dove into this like a woman possessed! So I’ll cut to the chase and tell you exactly what brings us here today:
Long story very short, I started reading this 2,000-year-old book and it’s Good.
Whether you’re religious or you simply enjoy a good read, the Bible is downright intriguing. There’s drama and scandal, suspense, wisdom, poetry, romance, horror, and so on. So naturally, as a bookworm, I can’t put it down.
To give you a little bit of background, I’m a single, millennial woman who grew up Christian-ish (I had a relationship with God, and occasionally knew church, but the bible was not extremely familiar in my household), and for the last year He has been flirting with me! For the past few months His pursuit has been more intense. I’ll tell you all about that in a later post. *winks* If you would’ve asked me 2 years ago what my perspective was on religion and Christianity I would’ve said “If you like it, I love it. Truly. But I don’t personally subscribe.” I had so many preconceived notions of what being a Christian would mean for me, what kind of person I would become, and how hot hell would be when I surely went there. Ha! So I turned to spirituality. I never stopped praying or believing in God, but I was more “namaste” than “hallelujah”, if you know what I mean.
I’m learning that a lot of what I believed, is not necessarily true and I’ve honestly been enjoying getting to know more about the faith. I know that for many people, myself included, just the words “Bible” “religion” and “Christianity” can or has conjured feelings of angst or uneasiness, (we can chat about that in a later post *winks again*) but my curiosity on the topic has revealed quite the opposite of those feelings. So much so, I brought this blog to life because I HAVE to tell someone what’s going on!
God is definitely endorsing this blog because I really felt I had no other choice but to create this space.
I plan to be very candid with you while I’m on this journey to knowing God more intimately! I expect this adventure and blog to be cathartic and healing for me, but most importantly I want to have a positive impact on you. My intention for this space is to get your curiosity flowing about your path, bring you a nugget of wisdom or inspiration, and simply entertain you with my experiences, and insights. I’m not the only person on this journey, so I’m here to invite and grow a dialogue and community of people striving for diamond-studded demeanors.
